Meaning "special treasure" in Hebrew, SEGULA provides educational opportunities to families in Cleveland’s Jewish community who seek a Jewish day school education for children with special needs. The program serves students in preschool through high school graduation with a variety of special needs diagnoses. Without the support, adaptations and educational interventions that are provided by the SEGULA staff, the opportunity to attend a Jewish day school would not be available to the students.
SEGULA provides students with a professional team that provides vital services that ensures a meaningful and successful learning experience for the child and fellow classmates. This team includes:
- Judaic and Secular Educational coordinators that design the educational plan for each child, supervise instructional aides, develop adaptive material, and evaluate student process and work with classroom teachers and parents
- An instructional aide works with individual students in the Judaic and secular classrooms.
SEGULA is also an approved provider for the Ohio Department of Education for both the Autism Scholarship and the Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship.
